Not much of anything
The Mallard hen and ducklings are nowhere to be seen. And like last year, they posed for one photo shoot and were gone. It seems that even the drake is a little perplexed as he returns to the pond for several hours every day.
Other than that, not much to report. I painted blue the tansy and scotch broom I could find yesterday. Today is going to be warm, so herbicide, do your magic! Sun, do yours as well.

Wonder why the ducklings and mama disappear?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a safety issue, Mojo. After all, we are out making racket from time to time. Also, the ducklings make easy pickings for the crows. I'd really like to know where she takes them, but it must be quite a distance because you'd think that they'd want to use the pond at some point when they got bigger. Of course, the other scenario is they don't last the night because of predators but I can't find any evidence.
